disturbing books

Everyone has a book that they just can't stand. I have three books that bugged the hell out of while reading it.

In no order:
1)
Because your mine by Lisa Kleypas;
2)
Cherish by Catherina Anderson;
3)
When Strangers Marry by LK.

1) The characters for WSM, weren't bad. The chemistry was hot (and that table scene? LORD have mercy!!) The thing is...the heroine is 18 (or 19, i'll give her some slack) and the hero is like 34-ish. Thats fine. I am cool. I am down with older men. Older men are hot.
BUT, the father has a set of 15 yr old twin sons. Thats cool. They are fifteen. Momma to be is 18 (or 19..)
They are old enough to be brother and sister. That happens. This is back in the day..ok. In the beginning of the book one of the twins PICKS UP the heroine and throws her over the shoulder.
Now. See what I mean. When I read the first chapters I thought the twin would have the girl. Never read a book to where the hero is younger than the heroine, but there is a first.
ACK. It just bothered me. Would you like to have a momma that is only 3 years older than you?
*shivers* I dunno. It just bothered me.

2) *sigh* I hatttteeed this book so fucking much. I don't know why or HOW i was able to finish this book..bleh.
Maybe because my feminist issues took over. But who likes a heroine that is dumb, careless, and FRAGILE.
I didn't like how the girl was so breakable. She gets spooked and she goes into this emotional shock stage where she is awake..but is just......sitting there..staring into space. wtf.
This is a western historical romance, guys a rough cowboy and is hot. Girl was in a huge aroyo. Aroyo, in this book, means like a big shootout. The girl was Quaker from Penn traveling down to Arizona in a wagon. 'Course Quaks don't believe in 'violence' so they didn't bring guns hoping the bible will "protect" them. Apparently not.
Everyone she traveled with was raped shot..cut..maimed. She hid or played dead (prob fainted with her loser self) and she was left to be.
Cowboy sees and finds her.
It just..God. How low can a person write a female.
BTW, she was blonde. How typical.

3) In because your mine, oh boy. This is the first LK book I have read, and im like..this is...good?
Again feminst issues. The hero was MEAN. I thought he was the the nasty brute alive. Not like I hate you..slap punch. Like, I love you and need you....for now. He says that. "for now."

"Your mine....for now."

Because he didn't want to hurt her feelings. Didn't want to get her hopes up. Didn't want her to fall in love with him, so he's all romantic and sensual..then blows it of with those two damn words.

How to hurt a female. He treated her like shit. Read the book and you'll know. Constantly he treats her like a lil doll to play with AND he constantly tells her..you'll bore me but you're fun now.
AHHHHHH. *Stabs book.*

Three instances. Only three, romance books bugged me and those are it.

I haven't read any of those books, but now I'm interested in those LK titles to see if I feel the same way. You are sooo good. LOL

With alpha heroes, I kind of turn off my innner feminist's screaming voice in my head - otherwise I wouldn't be such a romance lover.
